My Story...
My name is Brandy. I am the founder of Still A Rose. I am a SURVIVOR (3/5/04) of domestic violence. I met my abuser when I was 15, he was 18. The first time he hit me, I was 19, he broke my jaw. I married him anyway when I was 21, cause I thought I could change him. He was possessive, controlling, and a mean drunk.I stayed because I loved him, and he said he was sorry. In 2000, we had our first child...2001 our second....and the baby was born in 2004. The abuse only got worse. It escalated, and on 3/5/04 he pulled a gun on me, I was 8 months pregnant. I called the police, and he was sent to prison for 3 years. I was divorced 12/14/04....4 days shy of our 7 year anniversary.
Of course there is a lot of history within the 13/14 years we were together, but none of it was worth my life.
